So far, the gamma ray bursters R the brightest lights! What if 1 of these gamma rays hung around 4 an hour? Would this give everybody something like Sun burns?

    Gamma rays and X-rays are, for the most part, identical. The only difference is how the photon was created. X-rays are photons created by exciting the electron of an atom, and Gamma rays are photons created by exciting the nucleus of an atom. Once created, a photon is a photon is a photon.

    The effects of long term gamma ray exposure would be identical to the effects of long term x-ray exposure. You wouldn't want to do it because photons tend to hit molecules and leave dents in them, which is why there's tissue damage leading to a cancer risk if patients are x-rayed too much.
